They collaborated on several occasions, with Nikisch conducting Strauss' works and Strauss expressing admiration for Nikisch's interpretations. A nice association and a fine example.

- Teyte, Maggie (1888-1976) SIG-09103 $20InquireSIG of the English operatic soprano with the inscription Souvenir of "Cherubino". Album leaf with deckled edges, 1914. (Likely signed at Boston or Philadelphia, where she held contracts that year). Teyte was the only singer to ever be accompanied by an orchestra with Debussy at the piano.

Thomas began his career as a Broadway star but gradually took on more operatic roles, singing at the Metropolitan for much of the 1930s.

- Webster, Margaret (1905-1972) ALS-16146 $50InquireALS, small folding thank you card, n/d. The American-British actress, producer, and director, who became the first woman to direct a production at the Metropolitan Opera (Don Carlo, 1950), writes to thank Met coach Alberta Masiello. It is possible she sent this note immediately following that pioneering production, as she notes: If I have to do opera again at all, I wish you would always be around. Webster would direct additional productions at the Met in 1951 and 1959. Uncommon and in excellent condition.
