In very good condition. Cover just a bit dusty with a light crease at left.An English-language score of Kodály's a cappella choral work Mátra Pictures (in Hungarian, Mátrai képek), which he signs and inscribes: To Dr Cyrill B. Rootham, affectionately this little landscape from Hungary, Z. Kodály.
Inspired by folk music from Hungary's Mátrai mountain range, Kodály composed Mátrai képek in 1931. The work is in three parts and written for mixed chorus.
SSC-15930$400English composer and teacher Cyril Rootham (1875-1938) was the head of the Cambridge University Musical Society and programmed Kodály's works at their concerts. Kodály once attended one of those concerts with Arthur Honegger and Manuel de Falla.
