Steibelt, Daniel (1765-1823)

Twelve Waltzes for the Piano Forte or Harp, with an Accompaniment for a Flute, Tambourine and Triangle...Op. 34

J. Dale: London, [1798]. Engraved. Quarto. 25 pp. Disbound. Title page with soiling, hole at left (from binding), a few ink marks, and small tear at lower right corner. Several marginal tears with professional repair throughout. Loss at bottom of pp. 5-6 affecting a few bass notes on each page. Some pencilled fingerings. Despite this, a deep impression and good copy on the whole.
Piano/tambourine score alone. Title page decoration featuring a tambourine and triangle. According to Humphries, Joseph Dale (the publisher) took out a patent on improvements to the tambourine, an instrument in which his son was interested.
