Manuscript with Joseph Panny

By 1815, he was studying composition in Vienna but by the 1820, his compositions were not particularly successful and very few seemto be extant. In 1828 he attracted "the notice of Paganini, whom he joined on his concert tours, but they separated" (see Vand der Straeten. P. 109). He composed a scena for violin and orchestra for Paganini which the maestro at his farewell concert in Vienna in 1828. Eventually, after touring both as violinist and conductor, Panny settled in Mayence where he founded a School of Music.
