1934. Tall format program, elegantly matted in putty-colored silk, total dimensions 17.75" h x 11.75" w. The program has a few tears which have been professionally repaired and a vertical crease but is overall in fine condition. Gershwin's signature is somewhat faded.Celebration Program, signed, with Gershwin performing.
A touring program celebrating the 10th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue and presenting Gershwin as both pianist and composer. The works include the Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue (both with Gershwin at the piano), selections from Swanee, An American in Paris, the "I Got Rhythm" Variations (also with Gershwin at the piano), "Wintergreen for President" from Of Thee I Sing, and a group of four of Gershwin’s most famous songs. The program is signed by Gershwin across his name after the Rhapsody in Blue. Additionally signed by the tenor James Melton.
