Russian-born pianist and Chopin specialist Vladimir de Pachmann was taught from childhood by his father until he entered the Vienna Conservatory to study with Josef Dachs (a Czerny pupil) and Anton Bruckner. He then toured Europe and the United States to much acclaim, offering programs consisting exclusively of Chopin.
