"A Garland of New Songs" refers to a popular series of 18th- and 19th-century English and Scottish chapbooks printed by John Marshall in the Old Flesh-Market at Newcastle upon Tyne. These were small, inexpensive 8-page booklets which contained popular folk lyrics and ballads without musical notation, meant to be used as "sing-alongs". Most of these were printed between 1810 and 1830.
