SIG on a horizontal album leaf, 1975. Dolmetsch offers a sentiment in memory of a musical evening, pens his initials C,F,D in notes on a treble staff, and signs in full. Also boldly signed by the harpsichordist Joseph Saxby, who was Dolmetsch's regular accompanist.
Carl Dolmetsch was the son of the eminent French-born English early music scholar and instrumentalist and instrument maker, Arnold Dolmetsch. He succeeded him as the leader of the Haslemere Festival and was responsible for publishing a significant body of recorder music.
