The Russian pianist's bold signature is matted next to his postcard photograph portrait in a handsome triple mat.
Siloti's career was filled with remarkable collaborations. He studied with Nikolai Rubinstein, Tchaikovsky, and Liszt. He helped Tchaikovsky edit both of his piano concertos, founded the Liszt-Verein in Leipzig, and taught his cousin, Sergei Rachmaninoff. He concertized across Europe and America, gave recitals with Arturo Toscanini, conducted the world premiere of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, lead the Moscow Philharmonic, and arranged over two-hundred pieces for orchestra and/or piano.

At the time he signed this album leaf, he was busy organizing and conducting his own successful concert series in St. Petersburg, which presented premieres by Debussy, Elgar, Glazunov, Prokofiev, and Stravinsky, among many others.
