Percy Pitt was an English pianist, organist, conductor and composer, with an active career both in England and on the continent. He was the conductor of the British National Opera Company and for several years the musical director to the BBC. Pitt worked with Puccini to create English versions of his operas, most notably Gianni Schicchi.
