After graduating from the Brussels Conservatoire at just 17, Arthur de Greef moved to Weimar to study with Franz List for two years. A long and successful concert career followed, earning him praise across Europe for his reserved and thoughtful style. Edvard Grieg called de Greef "the best performer of my music I have met with".
