ALS, 2 pp., July 1958, in English on personal letterhead with envelope, signed Jan. Expressing thanks for a recent favor and requesting a phone call.
ALS, 1 p., February 1959, in English on personal letterhead with envelope, signed JMeyerowitz. Comically expressing thanks for arranging a favorable schedule.
ALS, 1 p., April 1959, a poem on Brooklyn College letterhead in English, signed JM. The poem is entitled Song of Entelchy and begins: No! I'll not bite the dust: I'll not wither, nor I'll rust; Living through a life of lust, Buried 'neath the planet's crust.
ALS, 2 pp., October 1967, in German on personal letterhead, signed Jmeyerowitz.
Meyrowitz emigrated in 1946 from Germany to the United States, where he held several teaching positions, composed, and conducted. Among his compositions are three operas on which he collaborated with African-American poet Langston Hughes.
