London, first quarter of the 19th century. c. 11" h x 8" w (27.9 cm x 20.3 cm). Decoratively matted with a total size of 15.5" h x 13" w (39.4 cm x 33 cm). Overall in fine condition (slightly creased, a tiny light abrasion in upper right corner).
A chimney sweep is sticking up out of a chimney playing his flute, reading music which is balanced on another chimney (There's a Sweet Little Cherub). A lithograph with original coloring and gum arabic highlights. Referring to the title, note the clock which reads quarter past five. No. 1 from a series entitled Music for the Million.
