Rossini, Gioacchino (1792-1868)

Autograph Letter Signed

"G. Rossini". To "Avocato Leopoldo Pini". Florence, Oct. 30, 1857. Quarto. 2 pages of a folded sheet with integral address. With draft translation. The usual creases, lightly water stained with bottom line of first page difficult to read, professional repairs to tears along bottom of both pages and center fold.
Rossini is writing to his lawyer in Florence about various money matters including selling a chest and some wine: "I hope the wine will be sold little by little. Remind your friend to put the wine on ice. The old champagne 'Ochio de Pernice' increases in value every year, you can give this lesson to your friends in my name". He concludes with a complaint that Pini doesn't tell him anything about the chorus.
