N. Simrock: Berlin, 1879. Pl.n: 8132. first edition. Folio. 39 + 17 pp. Covers detached and mostly unsewn. Browned around edges and chipped along spine. Page 5 and 37 have repaired tears. Violin part has cover detached and pages partially unsewn and light blue fingering throughout. Paper is brittle.
The Concerto was first performed by Joachim, with Brahms conducting, at the Gewandhaussaal in Leipzig on January 1, 1879.

Copy formerly owned by the Cleveland composer and conductor, Johann Heinrich Beck, with his markings.
