HORN: POST-HORN WITH ORIGINAL CASE

London, Late 19th century. 53.25" long including mouthpiece (135.3 cm). Minor dents in bell, otherwise in fine condition. Case in very good condition.
A copper and brass English post-horn (also called coach horn) with its original leather case. The case is stamped: MARTIN & MARTIN / NEW YORK / PHILADELPHIA / LONDON / LONDON HARNESS AGENTS". Stamped on the bell, surrounded by a trademark of trumpet and banner: "TRADEMARK / BOOSEY / BOOSEY & Co / MAKERS / 295 REGENT STr / LONDON ENG. / 57151 / & / 9 EAST 17th STt / NEW YORK". The silver-plated mouthpiece is stamped "BOOSEY & Co LONDON".
It is unusual to find a post-horn which still retains its original case.
