The celebrated Australian soprano (1861-1931) has traced firmly over her first name as her pen apparently ran out of ink. Signature is dated 1910 and matted with a period photograph of Melba, in her prime, as Ophelia in the Mad Scene of Thomas's Hamlet - one of her greatest roles.
