Typed Letter Signed

"Serge Koussevitzky". January 5, 1925. 1 p. of a large sheet. In excellent condition with typical folds.
The celebrated conductor and double bassist writes in response to an unnamed recipient's question about what a young man needs to become a conductor, enumerating three points about education, temperament, and the availability of opportunities. An interesting and attractive piece with a bold purple signature.
Koussevitzky wrote this letter just one year into his tenure as the principal conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, for which he is best remembered today.
